From April 27 to 29, 2025, a significant step was taken to enhance agricultural cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh, as a high-level grain trade delegation from Pakistan visited Dhaka. This visit, branded as the “Pakistan Grain Trade Delegation 2025,” included key exporters, government officials, and representatives from leading agribusinesses. Among the active participants was United Traders, a well-established name in Pakistan’s rice and cereal export sector.
The aim of this visit was to foster collaboration, increase bilateral trade, and explore new export opportunities, especially for rice, maize, spices and other cereals. Bangladesh, with its rapidly growing urban population and increasing food demand, represents a strategic market for Pakistani agricultural products. United Traders, known for its consistent supply of white and parboiled rice, maize, sesame seed etc used the opportunity to engage directly with Bangladeshi buyers, distributors, and policy stakeholders.
The delegation conducted multiple business-to-business (B2B) meetings and participated in joint roundtable discussions with the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Topics covered included reducing trade barriers, standardizing quality certifications, and exploring logistics partnerships. The importance of establishing direct trade routes, bypassing third-party re-exporters, was particularly emphasized to reduce cost and time delays.
United Traders presented its complete product catalog during a dedicated business forum the focus was given to maize, white and parboiled rice highlighting its affordability, grain consistency, and suitability for bulk buyers such as institutional kitchens and retailers.
As part of its strategic roadmap, United Traders aims to formalize long-term supply contracts with Bangladeshi food processors and government procurement agencies. The delegation also proposed joint ventures in post-harvest processing to improve shelf-life and reduce spoilage, a major concern in the tropical climate of Bangladesh.
With this visit, United Traders not only strengthened its commercial footprint but also reinforced Pakistan’s position as a reliable agri-food supplier in the region. The collaboration is expected to grow with follow-up communication, trade fairs, and knowledge exchange programs planned for later this year.
